You know you’ve got fierce competition when Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer are all walking the same red carpet, so Alexa Demie pulled out the big guns last night, as she joined her co-stars for the Season 3 premiere of Euphoria in Los Angeles.

For the event, Demie showed up in a vintage floor-grazing gown from Bob Mackie, the American designer who has long been a favorite for icons like Cher and Elton John, and whose archival pieces continue to pop up on the red carpet, on everyone from Miley Cyrus to Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande.

Last night, the latest Mackie disciple chose a black-and-silver striped dress with an optical-illusion pattern, which repeated down the fabric in an arrow design. Around back, the gown included an attached train cape, which featured thicker black stripes for a dramatic contrast.

As it turns out, this strapless, plunging design was once worn by Bette Midler, who modeled the piece for a Vanity Fair cover shoot in 1991 (as seen here).

To accessorize her look, Demie turned to Anita Ko for a pair of diamond-encrusted claw earrings and a baguette choker. She also wore a pair of shiny black patent-leather pumps. For an Old Hollywood touch, she wore her hair down in bouncy, voluminous waves.

When the first season of Euphoria premiered back in 2019, the show sent waves throughout the culture, influencing teen fashion and beauty, while making A-list stars out of its main cast members. Now, for the third season, the series has taken a major time jump, and our characters are finally all grown up. Clearly, their fashion is too.
