Chase Infiniti was soaking up Leonardo DiCaprio's wisdom on the set of One Battle After Another like a sponge
Infiniti tells PEOPLE what her three main takeaways were from DiCaprio on the film and reveals how she put them to use herself on The Testaments
The first three episodes of The Testaments are now streaming on Hulu, and new episodes drop Wednesdays
Chase Infiniti had a built-in teacher on the set of One Battle After Another, and she made good use of it.
The 25-year-old actress leads the new Hulu series The Testaments, a sequel series to The Handmaid's Tale based on Margaret Atwood's 2019 novel. The series marked her first time as no. 1 on the call sheet, and she leaned on some of the lessons she learned from Leonardo DiCaprio as she took the helm.
"I think the thing I learned the most from Leo is he's just such an incredible, gentle leader, and I really admired that," Infiniti tells PEOPLE of DiCaprio, 51. "And also his level of professionalism that he has."
DiCaprio's "kindness" was another standout to Infiniti on the set of the Paul Thomas Anderson blockbuster, as she says she was awed that "somebody at that level in their career [would] really make an effort to be just a kind human being to everybody on set."
Those qualities were "three things that I really took from him," Infiniti says, "and really tried to bring forward to The Testaments."

"Especially, I tried my best to be a leader in any sense," she says of the Hulu series. "If somebody just needed a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen to anything that was happening, and just also be another opinion in something that might be happening, whether it's on set or in real life."

"I just really wanted to make myself available to everyone there as much as I possibly could, because I think that One Battle was such an ensemble-heavy project, and this one, I would say, as well, is such an ensemble-heavy project," Infiniti continues. "And the way that both of those thrived was in community. And so I really wanted to make sure that I could be there for everyone as they were for me."
In The Testaments, Infiniti stars as Agnes, a daughter of a high-ranking Gilead commander enrolled in an elite prep school run by Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd).
The series picks up 15 years after the finale of The Handmaid's Tale, and follows Agnes and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), a rebellious newcomer. "As they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives, a place where obedience is instilled brutally and always with divine justification, their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future," per the official synopsis.

Along with Infiniti, Halliday and Dowd, Rowan Blanchard, Amy Seimetz and Mattea Conforti star in the series, which was produced by Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss.
Infiniti previously told PEOPLE that she "didn't get to meet Elisabeth Moss really until the end [of filming],” but when they did meet, it was a special moment. "She kind of immediately after I met her, like, wrapped me into a big hug," Infiniti said. "And was kind of like, ‘You got this. You got this. Okay? You got it.’ ”
New episodes of The Testaments premiere Wednesdays on Hulu.
