Christina Aguilera went braless in a Versace scarf top and divisive, Y2K-coded jeans during a romantic trip to Portofino, Italy, with her fiancé Matthew Rutler.
In Instagram photos posted on October 4, the “What a Girl Wants” singer accessorized the low-rise jeans with square-toe flip-flops and a Dior mini handbag in baby-pink.
Aguilera also shared photos of herself in a plunging black slip dress while sipping coffee on the balcony of her hotel room.
Christina Aguilera’s vacation wardrobe was a lesson in Y2K style. On October 3, the singer shared an Instagram photo dump featuring pictures from a romantic trip to Portofino, Italy, with her fiancé, Matthew Rutler.
Leaning against a balcony overlooking the city, Aguilera soaked up the sun in a Versace silk scarf top and a divisive pair of Y2K-coded jeans. Tied at the base of her neck and along her mid-back, the pink-and-green top created a nostalgic silhouette straight out of 2003. Just above the midriff, the scarf boasted an intricate sun print with swirling sunbeams that stretched across the colorful fabric.

Aguilera paired the top with sculpted, bootcut jeans by luxury denim brand Revice. The low-cut pants, which showed off her lower-back tattoo, notably featured cinching along the back, harkening back to the early days of the Juicy velour trackpants trend.
Embracing another controversial 2000s fashion trend, Aguilera styled the outfit with white square-toe flip-flops by Tkees. She completed the look with tinted rectangular sunglasses and a Dior mini bag in light pink with a gold chain shoulder strap.

Leaning into the Y2K theme, the “Beautiful” artist tied her bleach-blonde hair back into a chic, messy bun with face-framing pieces. For her glam, she opted for sculpted eyebrows, bold black mascara, and a rosy-pink lip.
Later in the slideshow, Aguilera shared a clip of herself—presumably recorded by Rutler—wearing a baby-pink satin nightdress while pushing a room service cart into their hotel room.

The couple began dating in 2010 after meeting on the set of Burlesque, in which Aguilera made her acting debut. During a Valentine’s Day trip to Mexico in 2014, Rutler proposed to Aguilera on the beach. In August 2014, the “Say Something” singer and her fiancé welcomed their daughter, Summer Rain Rutler.
The singer’s most recent Instagram post also featured glimpses of her in a plunging black slip dress held up by two thin straps, which she wore while lounging in her hotel room. One standout photo showed the Grammy-winner sipping coffee on the balcony and wearing a pair of tinted cat-eye sunglasses with red frames.
