Jake Shane Shares His Dream Broadway Role 3 Months After Making Stage Debut (Exclusive)

Jake Shane is continuing to turn longtime Broadway dreams into reality.
The comedian and influencer made his Broadway debut earlier this year in All Out: Comedy About Ambition, starring alongside Nicholas Braun, Ray Romano and Jenny Slate.
Yet, during a Broadway Breakout Brunch on May 22, Shane tells PEOPLE there is still one dream production he hopes to tackle one day. “Probably Oh, Mary!,” he reveals, referencing the Tony-winning Broadway comedy centered on Mary Todd Lincoln.
Oh, Mary! opened on Broadway in July 2024, and since the creator and original star, Cole Escola, left the show, stars such as Maya Rudolph, Jane Krakowski and Meg Stalter have been cast to play Lincoln reimagined as a woman desperate to become a cabaret star.

For Shane, stepping onto a Broadway stage was the culmination of a dream he had been chasing since childhood. Long before joining the cast of All Out: Comedy About Ambition, the comedian had already started envisioning himself as a performer — and even built it into his everyday life.
While speaking to PEOPLE back in February, Shane shared an old email signature he used when he was 11 years old: “It's Jake (Soon to Be a Broadway Star).”

The phrase dated back to sixth grade, when Shane was trying to land the role of Jimmy in his school's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. "Determined" to stand out to the director, he added the message to every email he sent as a way to “market” himself for the role.
The plan ultimately worked, and Shane landed the part that would become his first experience performing onstage.

That early theater experience left a lasting impression on Shane, who, to this day, remembers what he felt following his first performance.
“I remember everyone giving me a really big hug after and that feeling really good and being like, ‘I wanna feel this way forever,'” he tells PEOPLE.
