The mass exodus of artists from President Donald Trump's Great American State Fair has sparked jokes that his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, may need to take the stage herself.

The 43-year-old aspiring singer has an unexpected musical connection to Khloe Kardashian, who dated one of her collaborators, rapper French Montana. In February 2025, the Fox News host released the single No Days Off alongside the Moroccan-American rapper.

Kardashian and Montana were first publicly seen in April 2014, spending much of that summer together before ending their relationship for good in December of that year. The news follows Bret Michaels withdrawing from President Trump's MAGA festival over 'unforgivable' threats.

Montana later opened up about his relationship with the reality star, saying, "Me and Khloé are always going to be friends, and the family still remains close."

Khloé's ex and the father of two of her children, former NBA player Tristan Thompson, revealed earlier this year that he is "very close" with Eric Trump, Lara's husband.

"He's been actually great for me. He's been like a big brother, mentor, been very welcoming," Thompson said on The Katie Miller Podcast.

Those connections have added a sharper edge to the social media mockery now swirling around Freedom 250's crumbling entertainment lineup.

When Freedom 250 announced nine performers for the Great American State Fair, a 16-day exposition on the National Mall running June 25 through July 10, most of them pulled out almost immediately, saying they had felt misled about the event's ties to President Trump.

Martina McBride, The Commodores, Morris Day & The Time, Young MC, Milli Vanilli, and Bret Michaels have all withdrawn. McBride said she had been assured the event was nonpartisan and focused on all 50 states.

"Yesterday things started changing and what we were told is, in fact, not what is happening," she wrote.

With the lineup in freefall, social media users turned their attention to Lara. One user on X posted a clip from her music video for "Hero," writing, "Rest those pipes, Lara, they might need you to perform this hit for America's 250th."

Another declared, "We all know how this ends: Lara Trump on stage." A third wrote: "It looks like Lara Trump may have to take the stage after all at this rate."

President Trump announced Saturday he would headline the fair himself, writing on Truth Social that he was considering bringing "the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate 'Artists.'"
