At the recent London premiere, Margot Robbie stepped onto the red carpet in a breathtaking custom “creation” by designer Dilara Findikoglu. This was not a traditional dress; it was almost entirely made of hair. The garment featured an off-white, sheer corset base with exposed boning. However, the most incredible detail was the olive green braids of real hair that formed an outer corset. These braids wound around her body and draped down to cross at her knees.

The design was filled with intricate, spine-like lacing down the back. It featured delicate flowers also made of hair scattered across the hips and straps. According to the actress, the look was inspired by a Victorian mourning bracelet once owned by Charlotte Brontë, which was woven from the hair of her sisters, Emily and Anne. This eerie yet beautiful material choice perfectly captured the themes of obsession and grief found in the film.

To complete the look, Margot wore archival Boucheron brooches from the early 1900s. One was a “Valkyrie” garnet piece pinned to her bust, and the other was an “Assyrian Lion” brooch on her neck strap.

She also accessorized with bespoke garnet and pearl earrings by Jessica McCormack. Her hair was styled in a twisted low bun with soft curls framing her face, and her makeup was kept simple and natural. Standing in the London rain, Margot looked like a gothic vision come to life.
