Sean “Diddy” Combs’ representative has responded to the recent claims about the disgraced hip-hop mogul’s “VIP” lifestyle inside the Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey.
The representative has responded to The Mirror US regarding the claims raised in British-American journalist Rob Shuter's recent Naughty But Nice Substack post, published on Thursday, Oct. 1, about Combs’s alleged prison experience while serving his 50-month sentence in the minimum-security facility.
Shuter, citing an insider source, wrote on Substack: “Diddy is running that prison like he owns the place.” It also alleged that Combs has been making promises to other inmates about their lives outside of prison.

Shuter's Substack claimed, citing an unnamed insider source, “Inmates wait on him, people compete to get close to him, and even some guards are starstruck. He’s basically created a VIP section behind bars.”
A source told Shuter that Combs, 56, is allegedly promising others who are incarcerated at Fort Dix “jobs, money, opportunities” and even inviting them “to his next White Party.” However, an insider source told the publication that Combs’ alleged promises to other inmates may not actually happen after their sentences are served.

In a statement to The Mirror US, Combs’ representative Juda Engelmayer said, “At this point, the stories about Sean’s supposed prison lifestyle seem to be getting more elaborate by the day."

"Anonymous claims that he has created a ‘VIP section’ at a federal prison and is handing out invitations to future White Parties make for colorful copy, but that does not make them true.”
Engelmayer added: “Sean is serving his sentence and focused on getting through his time, his family and his appeal. We are not going to respond to every new story attributed to unnamed prison sources.”
The claims made in Shuter’s Substack regarding Combs’ lavish lifestyle inside the low-security federal prison come after NBC News reported on other allegations concerning Combs’ lifestyle inside the prison walls. The outlet spoke with four men who have been in the same unit as Combs. It also reported the story based on photos and videos obtained from inside the prison.
NBC News alleged that there are men who perform various tasks for Combs, including cooking for him, cleaning for him, making his bed, doing his laundry, and even one man who allegedly gives him Chinese-style massages.

“This is not some normal s--- you see in jail. This is some rich s---,” one of the men told the outlet. “It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.” Multiple sources also told the outlet that Combs allegedly has access to contraband cellphones and alcohol inside prison.
A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told the outlet that the agency doesn’t comment on the conditions of particular inmates due to “privacy, safety and security reasons.”
The spokesperson added, “Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics, and weapons, remains a constant challenge, and we continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities.”
After NBC’s report about Combs’ alleged lifestyle in prison, it reported that he was placed in solitary confinement, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.
In 2025, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison for prostitution-related offenses. His projected release date has reportedly been moved up to January 21, 2028, according to the Los Angeles Times, citing the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate database. His initial release date was projected to be June 2028.
