Temptation Island alums Alexa Santamaria and Lino Troisi wed on Oct. 2, after legally marrying in July

The couple celebrated their marriage with 60 loved ones during a three-day destination wedding celebration Oct. 1-3 in Italy

Guests enjoyed Italian food, music, and experiences throughout Sorrento

Temptation Island alums Alexa Santamaria and Pasqualino “Lino” Massimo Troisi tied the knot for a second time.

The Netflix stars first exchanged vows in an intimate courthouse ceremony in Florida in July. The newlyweds commemorated their marriage with 60 of their closest friends and relatives during an “authentically Italian” three-day wedding celebration Oct. 1-3 in Sorrento, Italy.

“Italy really felt like our grand finale!” Santamaria, 31, exclusively tells PEOPLE. “More than anything, we wanted our guests to fall in love with Sorrento the way we have. We loved the idea of creating a three-day celebration that took everyone to completely different parts of Sorrento and gave them a true taste of the Amalfi Coast. It almost feels like we’re taking everyone on our favorite Italian vacation with us, except we also get to celebrate our marriage along the way!”

Troisi, 30, adds, “Getting to bring all of our closest friends and family to a place that’s been such a big part of my life and our relationship feels full circle. I want them to experience the food, the culture, the people, and everything we love about Sorrento for themselves. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world!”

The celebration began on Thursday, Oct. 1, with a welcome party at Fattoria Terranova, a rustic farmhouse surrounded by lush greenery and gardens. The Mediterranean estate was filled with tomatoes, fresh pasta and bread, and decorated with peppers and lavender hanging from its wooden ceilings. The “Italian family gathering”-style event featured a local band and live cooking stations with “Nonnas” making fresh gnocchi and mozzarella, and tiramisu for dessert.

“We wanted it to feel nostalgic, warm and a little old-world, like one big Italian family dinner tucked away in the mountains of Sorrento,” says Santamaria, who made her grand arrival with Troisi in a vintage red car.

The next day, Friday, Oct. 2, was the main event: the wedding.

The couple exchanged handwritten vows at a private villa overlooking Mount Vesuvius.

A saxophonist played during the ceremony, adding a “romantic and cinematic” touch to the “deeply personal” event. The Italian-American groom walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley‘s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” then the bride walked down solo to Ellie Goulding‘s “Love Me Like You Do.”

“I came down the grand staircase of the villa alone, and that was really meaningful to me. I wanted it to symbolize that I was the one choosing to give myself to Lino and choosing him as my husband,” Santamaria explains. “It felt really powerful and personal to walk toward him on my own, knowing I was making that choice with my whole heart.”

The two were married by their best friend, Nico, who watched their love story unfold from the very beginning.

“There’s never a dull moment,” Troisi says. “We truly bring out the best in each other, and I can’t imagine a better partner to go through life with.”

“We’re constantly encouraging each other to grow, chase our dreams, and become the best partners we can be,” Santamaria adds. “I think that’s one of the strongest parts of our relationship. We make each other better, and we’re always moving forward together.”

Santamaria wore a “classic, timeless and elegant” Milla Nova ball gown with a basque waist and cathedral train from Luv Bridal for the ceremony, then changed into a “dramatically different” five-piece look by the same designer for the reception.

Because “fashion is [his] forte,” Troisi had an outfit change, too. He wore a black tux with a vintage gold brooch and oversized velvet tassel loafers for the ceremony, then a double-breasted silver pinstripe suit with a crystal brooch and cream Jimmy Choo loafers for the reception, with both suits by Enzo Custom. Custom embroidery reading “Return to Alexa” and “La Dolce Vita” was hidden in the suits.

The reception space was adorned with green and white florals by Revelation Floral and other ivory, soft sage, olive and warm stone decorations. A tall grape tower acted as the seating chart, directing guests to candlelit tables underneath hanging chandeliers, set with ancient stone heads and custom stone name cards by Made & True.

“We wanted everything to feel timeless, romantic and almost ancient, like stepping into an Italian dream,” Santamaria says. “Almost as if everything had been there for hundreds of years.”

Guests “got a true taste of Italy” with a buffet-style dinner featuring Italian favorites like gnocchi and pesto linguine. For dessert, slices of the three-tiered vanilla wedding cake were served. Later on, a gelato cart rolled onto the dance floor.

“For me, the guest experience and the food were huge. If everyone was flying all the way to Italy to celebrate with us, I wanted them to experience why I’m so proud to be Italian and why Alexa and I love coming here so much,” says Troisi, who has regularly visited Sorrento since he was a baby. “And obviously, Italian food is the best!”

He continues, “I wanted our friends and family to eat incredibly well, experience the culture, and leave understanding a little more of why Italy means so much to me.”

He and Santamaria shared their first dance to “You’re Still the One” by Teddy Swims. They took private dance lessons ahead of their wedding.

The celebration continued late into the night at a private cave tucked into the cliffside. For the “late-night cave after-party,” Santamaria wore something “a little sexier, more playful and ready to dance in” — a short corset and satin skirt with silver accents.

The next day, Saturday, Oct. 3, the party ended at a cliffside beach club overlooking the Gulf of Naples. The “Troisi Beach Club” was the “fun, carefree finale” of the weekend, and had a green and yellow theme inspired by the Italian coast.

Guests enjoyed pizza slices, limoncello and Aperol spritzes, and were given custom embroidered towels and hats, along with silk scarves and Eyebuydirect sunglasses, so they had everything they needed to “soak up the Italian sunshine and just enjoy doing absolutely nothing by the sea after two days of celebrating,” Santamaria says.

“Il Dolce Far Niente, meaning ‘the sweetness of doing nothing,’ [was] woven throughout the experience,” the content creator continues. “It’s colorful, playful, relaxed and the perfect ending to our wedding weekend.”

Santamaria and Troisi first exchanged traditional vows in a “timeless and elegant” courthouse wedding ceremony attended by just six relatives on Friday, July 17, in Winter Park, Florida — the city where their love story began in 2020.

At the time, the two went to the same gym and quickly developed crushes on each other. They showed up at the same time and stole glances from across the room. However, it wasn’t until weeks after Troisi suffered a bench press injury from dropping a 275-pound barbell on himself that he realized “life’s too short” and “worked up the courage” to make a move.

“He was whisked away in a stretcher and disappeared from the gym for weeks, and I kept showing up every day at 3 p.m. exactly, hoping he’d come back,” Santamaria remembers. “One day he finally did, he walked right up to me and said, ‘I was distracted that day by you.’ He asked for my name and number, and we’ve been together ever since!”

The duo got engaged in Hawaii on June 2, 2024, following weeks of separation while filming the season 1 finale of Temptation Island, which released on Netflix the next year. Santamaria says the experience “truly felt like something out of a movie” while Troisi says “it’s one of the proudest moments of [his] life.” They were the only couple who remained completely faithful during the reality dating series, which tested whether or not committed relationships could survive temptation.

“One of the sweetest parts is that I can relive that moment whenever I want,” Santamaria shares of her onscreen engagement. “Being able to turn on Netflix and watch one of the happiest days of our lives still brings me to tears every single time, and it’s something we’ll cherish forever!”

After receiving Santamaria’s father’s blessing over FaceTime, Troisi proposed with a solitaire emerald-cut diamond set on an 18k gold band from Icing on the Ring — the same Los Angeles jewelers behind their custom wedding bands. He later did a second more “private, intimate proposal” after cameras stopped rolling.

Santamaria and Troisi don’t know exactly where life will take them in the near future, but they say “that’s the exciting part.”

“This isn’t the finish line, it’s really just our beginning,” Troisi tells PEOPLE, with Santamaria adding, “The world is our oyster, and we can’t wait to see where this next chapter leads us.”

Long term, the two hope to build a life together in Italy.

“One day, we’d love to sell everything here in the U.S., buy a property there, and open a bed and breakfast or a beautiful villa that could also host weddings,” Santamaria shares. “After we’re married, I’ll be able to begin the process of becoming a dual U.S.-Italian citizen as well, which makes that dream feel even more possible.”

After their wedding in Sorrento, the newlyweds went to the nearby island of Capri for a four-day “mini-moon” to “decompress and soak everything in” before heading home to Los Angeles. Next up will be a 17-day honeymoon in Fiji.

The couple plans to travel from Los Angeles to Fiji with Fiji Airways, then take a private seaplane to Yasawa Island Resort & Spa, an ultra-luxury resort set on a remote volcanic island. “We really want to disconnect and experience that completely off-the-grid feeling together,” Santamaria says. From there, they’ll go to Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort, a premier dive destination. The adventure will conclude at Namale Resort & Spa, where the couple says they’re most excited for the “privacy, intimacy and romantic atmosphere.”

“After such a huge wedding celebration, having 17 days to explore Fiji, adventure together and then completely slow down and enjoy being newlyweds feels like the perfect honeymoon for us,” Santamaria says.

Beyond that, she’s excited for “all of the little moments that make up a lifetime together.”

“When you’ve found the person you want to spend forever with, every chapter becomes something to look forward to,” Troisi agrees.
